Plot of Marjaavaan
Raghu is a loyal goon of local thug Narayan Anna who controls the water mafia in Mumbai. Her father’s dependence on Raghu does not sit well with Vishnu, whose complex is more than just his short stature, as he is only three feet tall.
When Raghu falls for Zoya, a mutely inclined Kashmiri girl who teaches music to children, Vishnu takes the opportunity to use it to discredit his father’s most favorite goon.
Vishnu kidnaps Gaitonde (one of the enemies of his father) and tells a child that Zoya had chosen to shoot him for her music festival. Zoya sees this and flees, but her presence has already been revealed to Vishnu.
Vishnu informs his father that an eyewitness exists, so Anna orders Raghu to kill Zoya, not realizing that she loves Raghu. Raghu finds Zoya and tries to run away from Vishnu and his uncle, but Vishnu catches them and commands the killing of Raghu, Zoya, and all the children.
Vishnu’s father tells Raghu that if he kills Zoya alone, he and the children will be free, as she is the eyewitness to the murder of Gaitonde. Zoya is asking Raghu to kill her in order to keep him and the kids safe. Raghu fires, and in his arms Zoya dies.
A traumatized Raghu is arrested by police for the murder of Zoya. Raghu gets depressed and weakened in jail. Vishnu is trying to get Raghu killed in prison, knowing he’s going to take revenge if he’s released. Raghu, however, beats the hired goons Vishnu. Instead, Vishnu cuts off the leg of Mazar’s friend of Raghu because Mazar kicked him.
When Vishnu’s father tells him that Raghu will be sentenced to life, Vishnu helps Raghu get out by bribing the evidence because he’s going to kill him when Raghu comes out. Once Raghu is released, Vishnu sees that after the death of Zoya, Raghu is not the same. His dad tells him that the day he killed Zoya, Raghu died. Vishnu is trying different ways to restore Raghu to his old ways, but he fails.
The father of Vishnu catches him and warns him against this, but Vishnu kills his father violently and sends goons to kill Raghu. Raghu destroys all of them, however, and buries them. He visits the grave of Zoya and vows revenge on Vishnu; in this mission, he is joined by his friends.
As Vishnu comes to burn the idol of Ravana on Dussera’s day, Raghu arrives and begins to beat all the goons. Vishnu pierces an arrow into the heart of Raghu, but he is burnt by Raghu. Raghu sees the soul of Zoya while dying and dies in peace, surrounded by friends and family.
The police are coming and the inspector is telling the ACP that Raghu has died. The ACP replies that Raghu, who was with Zoya, returned to his life.
